Mondays Are The New Fridays, If You Squint Long Enough


Rocky Yazzie returned to Phoenix for the week, with his new San Francisco band Sweat Lodge.
He used to put together all kinds of crazy events, when he lived here a few years ago. We used to drag each other into projects that would mix poetry and punk in places like the Mesa Arts Center, heavy metal bars and everything in between. So I was excited to read between bands at another one of his shows.



 











 




I read outside for my second set, since it was getting pretty hot and sweaty.
Besides, I just really wanted an excuse to use this robot as the Coolest Podium Ever.

Ray Reeves kicked the show off with his brand of Camp Verde rawk.










Fathers Day is a thrash band made up of absentee fathers, like Golf Dad on guitar, 
Classy Dad on bass, Business Dad frontman, etc.




 They just don't make fake mustaches like they used to.



 

Ray also had to sit in as Drummer-For-Hire Dad.
