The Big Poetry Month Giveaway

In honor of National Poetry Month, I am participating in the Big Poetry Giveaway project that was started by Kelli Russell Agodon over on her blog, Book Of Kells.

Each participant must offer up two poetry collections for a random drawing on their own blog. One can be their own and the other should be from one of their favorite poets.

As for me, my only small press chapbook (published by Red Booth Review) is out of print. So I will be giving away a copy of a chapbook that I made up for some of my readings. The packaging is handmade... I mean "limited edition" but a decent amount of the poetry inside was previously published in journals like Red Rock Review, The Peralta Press, Georgetown Review, etc.

I will also be giving away a copy of Beth Ann Fennelly's Open House.
She is one of my favorite poets and this was her first collection. She might have better individual poems in later collections, but as a whole, I am always charmed by this debut.

Some of her standout poems that you should look forward to reading, include:

"Mother Sends My Poem To Her Sister With Post-Its"
"The Cup Which My Father Hath Given Me"
"Poem Not To Be Read At Your Wedding"
"Madame L Describes The Siege Of Paris"
"Asked For A Happy Memory Of Her Father, She Recalls Wrigley Field"
"The Impossibility Of Language"
"I Would Like To Go Back As I Am, Now, To You As You Were, Then-"

If you would like to be entered in my drawings for each of these, just leave a comment here by the end of April, with an email or blog that I can contact you with. I will post the winners on May 1st.

And you can check out the other participating bloggers to enter their drawings over at the Book Of Kells.
